Cherry Pie Smoothie

I’m posting this cherry smoothie in honor of my dad who’s visiting from Australia. Dad absolutely loves cherries, and this cherry pie smoothie is his favorite smoothie.

For those of you in Australia, fresh cherries are in season! Dad and I have been known at Christmas to devour bowls of cherries in one sitting and not come up for air. For those of you in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, or other places where frozen cherries are not widely available at the grocery store, you can use fresh cherries and add ice, or pit and freeze fresh cherries at the peak of ripeness and flavor.

Cherries taste so rich and decadent to me. But, they only have about 80 calories per cup, and they’re loaded with fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Yes, tell yourself that as you blend this cherry pie smoothie up again and again.

This cherry smoothie is berry yummy, and really does taste like cherry pie. Don’t miss it.
