Chard figures in cholesterol-control and weight-reduction programs, and is an excellent source of vitamin C, to combat free radicals, maintain normal connective tissue, prevent iron deficiency, and enhance resistance to infectious agents. One of the best vegetable sources of vitamin K for building blood, chard is also a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin-A, flavonoids, and antioxidants like beta-carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin, as well as B vitamins, copper, calcium, sodium, potassium, iron, manganese and phosphorus. Cucumber is our go-to base for sugar-free, alkaline juice blends, too. Make sure your cucumber is organic and hasn’t been embalmed in a coating of wax.

What if I don’t have a juicer? I only have a regular blender and a vitamix. Can I not do the juice fast?
You can absolutely participate with a blender. Just add enough water to create a blendable consistency, tweak flavours to taste, then strain.

Great. If you’re drinking juices as well as eating other foods, it’s best if you don’t dilute and strain. Those instructions are just for the fast.
is the fasting just for three days? how many times a month should you do it?
Yes. This juice fast lasts for 3 days. We do it once every season. I think fasting once a month of once every season is adequate for most people. Always consult your doctor.
So here I am, late to the party. Just found your website and started the juice cleanse today after doing an apple juice cleanse for 2 days. I feel wonderful but have a problem with elimination. No fiber. Can I take some psyllium husk to help move things along?

I am so sorry I am just answering this now. I somehow missed this comment. For fasting purposes, you really don’t want to take in any fiber, as it will make you hungry and affect the fast. To prevent constipation during a fast, I highly recommend colonics before the fast or enemas during the fast. I hope this helps. Do not take the pshyllium husk until after the fast.
What can be substituted for Apple? I am allergic to raw apples, peaches, pears, & plums
This juice needs something to sweeten it. So, if you can’t have pears, pick another fruit like pineapple or orange.
