This chai banana smoothie from The Blender Girl Smoothies book is vegan, gluten-free, and paleo-friendly, and is super creamy and delicious.

I called this smoothie the Chai Tai in the book and this chai banana smoothie is one of my favorites recipes.

The incredible creaminess and blend of warm spices in this chai banana smoothie will make you weak in the knees. The boosters add an injection of protein and omega-3s—so you may feel a tad less cheeky as you head to heaven.

There are 100 smoothies in the book with three optional boosters that work separately and together to ramp up nutrition and/or flavor. There’s also an amazing smoothie glossary that shows you how to incorporate leafy greens, herbs, spices, juices, milks, superfoods, flavor enhancers, sweeteners, oils, protein powders, salt, coconut, etc for the best results.

I really wanted to create a comprehensive smoothie book, and I feel confident that by using the recipes as inspiration, and by following some of my tips, you will be making amazing smoothie blends of you own.

  1. The only thing that would make this and all of your recipes better would be to have the nutritional and calories information along with it. Love it though!!

    1. Thanks for the feedback Kate. I value it. There is nutritional analysis for all of the smoothies in the app, and there will be nutritional analysis for all recipes in my next two books.

  2. I just bought your app and all I can get up is a picture of what looks like a rasberry smoothie. Is there a problem with your app?

    1. So sorry to hear that Deb. I have just sent you an email and copied in Random House so that we can help you. Please use the contact form in the app and somebody from RH will help you ASAP. The app does work. But, we had one other person who had a bad download and experienced something similar, and then when she loaded it again everything was fine. Rest assured, we will resolve this for you. Thankyou for your support and patience.

  3. I LOVE this smoothie–definitely one of our favorites! We use it as dessert when I make it and it’s so satisfying! Thanks so much for all of the wonderful recipes!

  4. I do like the idea of this, but I just made it exact and all I taste are bananas. Maybe substitute the bananas for cashews? Everyone else must be ok with the banana taste. I just don’t want that taste in my chai drink.

    1. Amy – you can tweak the recipe any way you like. The bananas are there to sweeten, thicken, and add creaminess. I would sub one of the bananas with cashews. But, if you take out all of the banana you will need to add sweetener. Enjoy.

  5. This is one of my favorite recipes from your book. Today I added some pumpkin to it and an extra date for a pumpkin chai and it was so good! Thanks for your amazing recipes!
