  4. Loved!!!!!! this was so good. I didn’t have any dandelion greens so I put a bunch of spinach in there instead. Sooo good. I am trying to venture into less sweet smoothies and this one was a winner. Thanks!

    1. OH, I am SO glad you enjoyed this. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this smoothie and think it is one of my best. Yes, you don’t need the dandelion greens. I just had them the day I made this up, and wanted to boost the nutritional content. But spinach works really well as a sub.

  5. Love this smoothie SOOOO much! I’m just wondering what the calorie content is. Surely it must be listed here somewhere, but I can’t find it. : (

    1. SO glad you are enjoying this smoothie Lynne. Because I am not a nutritionist or dietician, I don’t post nutritional profiles on my recipes. However. you can plug the ingredients into third party software like nutrition data or cronometer. I hope this helps.

  6. Oh my goodness, this is SO GOOD! I was definitely skeptical of it but I made it for lunch yesterday & I couldn’t stop thinking about it for the rest of the day. Thank you!

    1. Ha! I Love it. Thanks for sharing Taryn. I am so glad you have this one a try. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

  7. I never knew smoothies could taste so great! I only had one mango and kept the same measurements for the other ingredients and it still tastes GREAT! I can’t get enough of these green smoothies. Icy spicy sweet goodness. Keep them coming.

    1. Awesome! Yes, this is my all-time favourite blend. I included a Pineapple Salsa smoothie in The Blender Girl smoothies app, because it’s a winner! So glad you are enjoying your green smoothies.

  8. A quick question- with a blender like a Vitamix why bother with mincing, chopping etc the various items in the recipe as listed? Is there a good reason to do this? I am new to smoothies and Vitamixers.

    1. Great question: There is no need to mince and grate ingredients with a high-speed blender. However, ingredients measure with greater accuracy when they are cut into small pieces. So, to ensure your recipe turns out exactly like the one I made, I measure pungent foods like chiles, and ginger etc that way. If I said “a 1-inch knob of ginger” that could mean something different to everybody and with assertive ingredients this can dramatically swing the flavor profile out of balance. Once you have made the recipe and have eye-balled the ingredients, you can just throw them in. I hope this helps.
