Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) filtered water
  • 1 cup (25g) curly kale
  • 1/2 cup (12g) loosely packed flat-leaf parsley leaves
  • 1 English cucumber, roughly chopped
  • 1 medium orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1 medium-sized frozen sliced banana
  • 1 cup (160g) frozen pineapple
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, plus more to taste
  • 5 drops alcohol-free liquid stevia, plus more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon  Calcium Montmorillonite Clay (for every 50lbs body weight)

optional boosters:

Instructions

  1. Throw everything into the blender including any boosters, but excluding the clay, and blast on high for 30 to 60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  2. With a non-reactive spoon, add 1 teaspoon of clay to the blender for every 50 lbs of body weight, and blend on high for 5 to 10 seconds until well combined.
  3. Empty the smoothie immediately after making so that the clay has limited exposure to the metal blades of the blender.
  4. Drink the smoothie immediately on an empty stomach (see post)
  5. Notes *If left to sit, this blend thickens into a solid jello-like mass. **The blend will have a slightly gritty texture due to the clay. ***When consuming clay, it’s important to keep really hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and consuming high-water content foods like melon, cucumber, and tomato. The more water you drink, the better the minerals will work.

Recipe Notes

*Probiotic Powder - I add 1/2 teaspoon of probiotic powder to all smoothies to replenish stores of healthy bacteria for immunity, digestion, detox, and to balance the acidic effects of high-sugar fruits and other sweeteners. The really potent probiotics require refrigeration. If you have capsules, break the shell and release the powder. Unsweetened probiotic-rich liquids like kefirs (water, coconut water, milk varieties) or kombucha make wonderful health-promoting additions to shakes, too.

**Clay: On average, the dose is 1 teaspoon of clay powder for every 50 pounds of body weight. For the best results, take a dose everyday when starting out, as it takes time for the minerals to build up in the body and for the clay to take effect. You should start noticing a difference in 2 to 4 weeks.

**It is best to drink this smoothie on an empty stomach first thing in the morning,
